About the South Bay Writers Board of Directors
The Board comprises the following offices with their primary responsibilities but, in the main, works as a unit developing mode, direction and specific events for the benefit of the Branch. We meet once a month and at other times when imminent interest calls. We hope and plan to execute our responsibilities in an open forum and invite members to involve themselves. Your 2007-2008 officers have adopted the following Mission Statement.

Mission Statement:
To assist published, nascent and aspiring writers in the pursuit of their muse and the honing of their craft through conferences, educational workshops, lectures, opportunity alerts and networking; to spread our Branch reputation and credibility through the community so as to be known and solicited as writers.

Elected 2007-2008 and office objectives:

Dave LaRoche – President (leadership and management)

I will invite access and influence into club management and direction, encourage outreach to our community, especially to our youth. I favor increased exposure to resources for all level of member-writers including more workshops, appropriately endowed speakers, and directories for critique groups, expert help, and enriching web content. This is your Club, I will listen.

Alexander Leon – Vice President (programs)

To find the best speakers that will motivate and inspire each club member's muse into singing to us even as we sleep, so that we may create the richest, most powerful and beautiful structures ever crafted in words.

Jeannine Vegh – Secretary (communication and archives)

Humility, perseverance, integrity, and determination - honored within a community can bring growth and progress. By providing clarity in communication, and offering insight into our production, we will have opened the doors of perception, and stimulate change.

Jeremy Osborne – Treasurer (money management)

Working to create an effective group for writers. My goals are to make sure our club runs impeccably, that valuable information is dispersed to our members, and that club monies get used honorably.
