Tom Mach

Tom Mach is the author of two historical novels, Sissy! and All Parts Together.  He has held editorial positions for one regional and two national magazines. He taught copywriting at San Jose State University and writing for publication courses in workshops and community colleges. Tom has written extensively for regional and national magazines. His novel "Sissy," set during the Civil War, won the J. Donald Coffin Memorial Award for the best Kansas novel. Tom currently lives in Lawrence, Kansas and teaches Writing Workshops at the University.  

Sissy! is the first book of a trilogy about Jessica, a 19th century lady whose parents are murdered by border ruffians. About to kill the wrong man on a Civil War battlefield, she is stopped by an angel. This book won the J. Donald Coffin Memorial Book Award.

All Parts Together is the second book of a trilogy about Jessica Radford. After experiencing the horrors of the Quantrill raid, she moves to Washington, DC, where she meets Lincoln and is convinced he will free all slaves. This book won an award with the Hollywood Book Festival and Best Books of 2006. It was also considered for the Pulitzer Prize of 2007.

The Universe is more than a poetry book because it takes the readers through man's early exploration of the creation of the universe. A top Amazon reviewer praises it, saying "There are sparks in these poems that are bright shining diamonds lurking amongst the other minor gems."
