Susan Mueller

I started out with a degree in education from the University of Michigan back when it was still legal to beat children. Later, I took up accounting and managed a large accounting department for Northwestern University. Later, I fell into freelance writing after a night course at the University of Chicago. I came to the Bay Area as a back up grandmother and discovered the Silicon Valley San Jose Business Journal. I wrote for them for six years, interviewing about 2500 local tech wizards. Now I am struggling with a novel built on memoirs. I am still grandmothering. When no one will play with me, I nurture a lot of flowers in my garden and play tug of war with my Malamute. Also I raise money to aid the blind and visually handicapped. And I am a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners while I keep my accounting clients happy. I don't watch TV, iron or cook.

Susan received the CWC South Bay branch Jack London Award in 2000 in recognition for her years of service as branch treasurer.
